Scouts look for future stars at soccer showcase

MISSISSAUGA—Snacks, drinks and a skillfully worded chant or two are the favoured game-day accessories for most soccer fans. But this weekend, the sidelines of soccer pitches in Mississauga have been crowded with folks carrying notepads, pens and cameras. While the rest of the city was looking for a spot to enjoy the Victoria Day sun, around 300 soccer scouts were looking for talented young players at the Umbro College Showcase.
